Both of these statements are false.
The Real Life Superhero movement, although mostly consisting of a bunch of fruits in tights that volunteer at soup kitchens, does have a number of people like “Phoenix Jones” who get into fights with hardcore drug dealers and whatnot. Ergo, people have tried to be a superhero and succeeded, making the entire premise of this movie moot.
